Inspiration

It all started from my childhood when using glance, which came pre-installed in every xioami phones, which gives ads on lock screen wallpaper, and changes on turning phone off and turning it back on. I had this idea for years now. So what if instead of showing ads, why not show Quran ayath, which the user want to memorize.

What it does

User can choose surahs, and ayath range, which stays on user wallpaper, and changes every time phone is turned on and turned off in a loop.

How we built it

We built it using react native & kotlin, the wallpaper engine is built using kotlin and the app UI is on react native.

Challenges we ran into

In order to have live wallpaper, we initially thought to create multiple screenshots, from ayah 1 to the end, but its not feasible, so we had to create a wallpaper engine, which draws the wallpaper live with stored progress. We got stuck with the implementation since the resources we found online was limited

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Proud of everything we built. hehe

What we learned

Always add entire sugar packet to the coffee, it was too bitter with half packet added.

What's next for Wahy

Currently it goes based on surahs, we want to add more features where user can select juzhs, or by default loop through entire quran.

Additional feature we wanted to add was to add customization features for users.
