Inspiration
We explored a narrow, local-first way to help someone keep fictional pay examples organized without turning a demo into legal advice or a wage claim service.
What it does
WageEvidence is a simulated Alexa+ experience. A worker chooses a fictional pay example, reviews and edits suggested dates and amounts, and sees an arithmetic timeline with a preparation checklist linking to official JTKSM guidance for Peninsular Malaysia.
How we built it
It is a static browser app made with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and scripted dialogue. Open index.html in a current browser. No build step, account, API key, server, or network service is required. The app uses bundled fictional examples, does not send entered values, and does not use application-managed persistent storage.
Challenges and accomplishments
We kept the flow reviewable and the product boundaries visible: this is a simulation, not a native Alexa+ integration. Users can edit entries and clear app-owned fields and results. We kept source links next to the preparation checklist.
What we learned
A simulated voice experience needs clear disclosure about what is and is not connected. Keeping suggested values editable and guidance linked to primary sources helps avoid presenting the app as a legal decision maker. A browser may restore recent page state, so clearing app fields is not a guarantee that all browser-managed state is erased.
What's next
With more time, we would seek worker and screen-reader feedback before making broader claims or extending geographic coverage.
