Inspiration
The inspiration behind W5Employee is to combat the issues of work fraud and credential misrepresentation that have become pervasive in the Fin-Tech industry.
I was motivated by the need to restore trust in the verification process and ensure the authenticity of work credentials.
The idea was born out of the realization that many individuals misrepresent their academic and professional qualifications, leading to doubts about the verification process. I was inspired to create a secure and verifiable system for work credentials using the latest advancements in Web5.0 technologies, such as Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verified Credentials, to reduce the risk of fraudulent claims and enhance the overall verification process
How we built it and Project Overview
In a digital landscape fraught with work fraud and credential misrepresentation, W5Employee 👨🏻💻 emerges as a groundbreaking solution. This project harnesses the power of DIDs (Decentralized Identifiers) and Verified Credentials within the realm of Web5.0, creating a secure and verifiable system for work credentials in the Fin-Tech industry.
Decentralized Identifiers (DID) - The app generates a DID to identify you when you first launch it. This is stored in the browser and acts as your identity.
Decentralized Web Nodes (DWN) - A DWN is created in the browser to store your data encrypted securely. We use it to store uploaded files.
Problem Statement
Work fraud and credential misrepresentation have become pervasive issues, causing concerns about the authenticity of academic and professional qualifications. Counterfeit degrees and identity theft further contribute to the lack of trust in the verification process. W5Employee 👨🏻💻 addresses these challenges head-on, revolutionizing the way work credentials are handled and authenticated.
