StudySphere

Inspiration

Whenever I used my desktop apps on my computer, I enjoyed how easily you could navigate through apps. I also liked the feature where you could customize the background, making it feel more like "you". I knew it needed to solve a problem, so I made it for school as students waste time switching between multiple apps, and this could boost productivity by having everything on one simple dashboard.

What it does

William and I tried to make it like an app dock, like a phone's home screen. There are many apps, all useful to students. Some examples of the apps that benefit the students are a Pomodoro clock, making students maintain high concentration, or notes for each class, a scientific calculator, and a calendar. Our app also has low dopamine-giving games, giving the students a time for a break but not overloading them, which could distract them from their schoolwork.

How we built it

We built it using GitHub, a collaborative website that can allow two coders to simultaneously code together. We also used ChatGPT, its coding skill being decently high.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge we ran into was the code had a lot of bugs, and once we asked ChatGPT, the code fixed itself of those errors, but adding other errors, the most annoying part. Another challenge we faced was productivity, as we coded very slowly with so many bugs in the code. One last challenge we faced was an unfamiliar coding language, as I usually code in Python and Java, while this project relied heavily on html code, which took a while to understand the coding concepts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of coming this far and putting so much effort in this project. I had to learn a bit of html to code and debug efficiently in html, and William's proud of problem solving and improvising, something we had to do a LOT.

What we learned

We've learned how to efficiently work as a team, and we also learned how to improvise and problem solve fast.

What's next for StudySphere

I plan to make StudySphere easily accessible to any student, while also updating and refining the project. I hope that Studysphere will help students become more productive and get better grades.
