Inspiration
Some of my friends paid for a full day parking pass but still bus to school. There are not enough parking spots for the students and we do not know if there are spots available to park. My friends did not want to risk it to drive all the way to the campus, just to park very very far.
What it does
PLAv(parking lot availability) is a self-report website where students log in and fill out the spot status and submit it. It will tell us the number of parking spots available. It also directs you to the map to get to the parking lot.
How we built it
We were trying to apply database (log-in, spot availability) onto the live status of the website. However, The result only includes the Web Page itself built with HTML.
Challenges we ran into
There were many challenges we ran into.
- Most of the teammates dropped
- It was hard to import database in the hard code
- Not enough time for one person to finish the product
- Unrealistic Idea and concept
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that I was able to finish it and submit it.
What we learned
We learned that making a whole project is very different than just coding. Different skills are required, and teamwork is important.
What's next for Parking Lot Availability
The next would be making the website to actually work and run.
