Our Problem Statement: Vaccination Scheduling: Develop a mobile/web application through which patients and health organizations can manage scheduling and administration of the COVID-19 vaccines. The application can include features like vaccination eligibility, priority queue, smart overbooking, no-contact patient check-in, location-wise appointment, appointment reminders, etc.

Inspiration

We want to make a vaccination schedule as simple and straight forward as possible. One where everyone is able to use it swiftly

What it does

Users will be able to find out if they are eligible for vaccination through the short survey at the bottom of the main page. They are also able to check for the latest government updates by click on the 'Latest government update' page which ill brings them to the Ministry Of Health page for vaccination information. Then, they are able to create a schedule for the vaccination. They will be able to select the date, time slot and location they desire. After scheduling, they are able to check back on their information base on their NRIC and even edit it in case of errors. Last but not least, after their appointment, users will be able to check in the appointment using the website. The status of the user will then be changed to Completed in the database for the administrators to take note of.

How we built it

We use Oracle SQL* Plus for our database, HTML, CSS & JSP for our websites.

Challenges we ran into

The database took the longest to create as we had to figure out what data should be stored when scheduling. Integrating HTML and the database was also another problem as there were some inconvenient in there. However, we were able to complete it in time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are able to create a working website from scratch with the help of an HTML templated based taken from w3school.com and even implement a database. We were not expecting to be able to create one this fast especially with such a short time frame. However, all of us persevered and power through managing to finish what we set out to do.

What we learned

You'll never know until you try. We were unsure about what to do when the hackathon started. Some of us were lost and some of us confused. However, after we recollected our thoughts and ideas, we set out to tackle a problem statement.

What's next for VSW (Vaccine Scheduling Website)

Implementing a reminder system when the user's scheduled date is around the corner, an overbooking system to prompt users that bookings are filling up fast/filled out for that specific date & time slot.
