- Relevance for Canadian ecosystem: Even though the participation in the Hackathon is not restricted to Canada, the implementation of highlighted projects needs to be planned nationally.
-Transmission of Covid-19 across ATM’s, Currency & EMV reader’s are a Global Problem.
The virus is capable of surviving on surfaces for up to four days depending on the material.
- Relevance of the solution in addressing the specific challenge: The solution is addressing the stated problem and is answering the proposed challenge

- Potential for impact on the long term: Is this solution feasible? Is it scalable? Transferability potential (how will the solution be applied in practice?)
The application of UVC LED’s to eradicate Covid-19 has had it’s efficacy demonstrated around the world in Medical scenarios {appendix}
- Progress in last 48 hours: Projects in different stages of development have been submitted to the Hackathon, however highlights will be selected among those who made biggest progress during #TogetherVsVirus.
Device designs have been considered in each & every scenario where currency and bank cards are used in society: cash, cards, ATM’s & EMV readers. These applications can be produced at scale to tackle dissemination in a categorical and comprehensive manner
- Value added: We want to make sure that projects are inspired by collaborative spirit and adding value on each other.
Team members in Canada, Ireland, India, Switzerland & America have all come together to work through the various design issues of each of these applications. Many issues have been thoroughly discussed, designed and iterated to arrive at the team’s conclusions
