Inspiration
We were inspired by the problem presented which had a challenging set of constraints. This lead us to taking some interesting design considerations.
What it does
Our car designed with speed and efficiency in mind, featuring a steering system and a gearbox!
How we built it
Our project was entirely built in Fusion360.
Challenges we ran into
- Ease of Printability: A constraint we faced several times during the design process was the fact that every single part had to be easily printable. This made designing some components more difficult
- Packaging: Given the size constraints, packaging proved more difficult than we originally expected. Our initial design was far longer than we expected and it took us 3 iterations before we settled on a compact solution
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- 2:53:1 2 stage gearbox that allows us to increase motor efficiency
- Steering system that makes use of side rollers kept in constant compression with print in place springs
- Our design does not require supports!
What we learned
- We learnt a lot about parametric design and collaborating in assemblies!
