Inspiration

We acknowledged that mental health is a prevalent problem, especially in seniors, and we wanted to bring the tech revolution to it. We designed a Virtual World that can support this by bringing seniors to a world of their preference and connected to others from across the globe.

What it does

The Virtual Oasis can bring a virtual world to seniors and connect them with others, supporting communication and helping their mental health by relieving stress. Within this world, there are many things such as, stress management tools. games, coaches, and reports about how they are doing. We believe that this can bring them to a world which they want to see without leaving the comfort of their couch

How we built it

We built the presentation using PowerPoint to show our ideas and the experiences that this product will support. Then we made a website to make these ideas more accessible and easier to view. In this website we have everything relating to the idea and how we plan to release it.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some challenges trying to make the presentation represent the reality that people will face when using the product since not that much media is being made from this right now, but we solved this by generating our own images using AI.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One accomplishment that we're proud of is being able to make a clean website to display our ideas clearly. The website that we made had a clean design that showed off our ideas for how to develop the VR system and different functionalities of the VR System and how we can develop it in the future. We also included many images on how this VR Oasis could potentially look like.

What we learned

What we learned when creating this idea is how to effectively generate images and videos to show our vision for what our VR project could look like in the future. We also learned how to create a good website while making this project.
