Inspiration

Young adults with autism and special needs can be several challenging when job hunting. I aim to create a Virtual Reality to help to be successful!

What it does

The VR app will help a young adult with a disability to learn critical tasks through training from the app. The user will provided a task list and can collect all the items in the task list. Then, the user can complete task and practice over and over. The nice thing about VR training is you can make many mistakes and learn from it.

How I built it

The app is built in C# and Unity. I also use the VRIF framework.

Challenges I ran into

I was working solo, so it took time to implement all the 3d models in the scene. I also struggled with the implementation functions of completing tasks but was able to solve it.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

I was able to finish 😂 This was the first time I implemented a task list in Unity with C#. It was fun to learn, and I'm proud that I was able to complete it!

What I learned

I learned how to implement a task list on Unity.

What's next for VR Grocery Pickup Trainer

  • A user can add and remove items
  • Voice navigation
  • Completion message after collecting all the grocery items
  • More items need to be added to the task list
