Inspiration

We were inspired by the opportunity to bring our vision to life by addressing common challenges in the acceptance process and passive ULD handling, while leveraging the ONE Record API to facilitate the acceptance workflow and integrating technologies such as WhatsApp, Cloud Designer, AI, and weather data services to create a smarter and more connected solution.

What it does

Team Awery build a web application with a dashboard that visualizes the acceptance process flow through the ONE Record API and integrates Open-Meteo weather data. In the event of an acceptance issue, the system creates an entry in the Logistics Event, in line with the ONE Record standard. QR codes are used to retrieve the AWB object directly from ONE Record, while WhatsApp messaging is used to send notifications in case of irregularities during acceptance. AI is also used to assess potential environmental changes that may impact shipment conditions.

Challenges we ran into

How can we accurately calculate potential temperature fluctuations under changing ambient conditions to better protect sensitive cargo? How can we integrate a WhatsApp notification hook to enable real-time alerts and faster response to irregularities?

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built an MVP web application integrated with WhatsApp notifications and a weather data service, enabling proactive action. We are particularly proud of how we addressed the challenge of calculating temperature deviations by applying multiple calculation methods and variable KPIs.

What we learned

We learned how acceptance and ULD management processes work as part of our preparation for delivering the solution.

What's next for Voyager

We plan to deploy a moving globe view to visualize ULD allocation and provide real-time status and risk assessment. In addition, we aim to expand notification channels beyond WhatsApp by introducing AI voice calls and email alerts. We also plan to enhance AI-driven predictions by combining events stored in the database with forecasted future conditions.
