Inspiration
To create an easier way to book holidays. Without the usual fuss of thinking of a destination, accommodation or attractions.
What it does
It's a communicative chatbot that allows the user to bounce ideas for travel destinations within their budget. Giving the user's an easier time discovering, deciding and purchasing. With purchases done through a secure payment gateway, the consumer can rest easy with giving their payment details to the application.
Outside of the consumer experience, the chatbot allows business to register as well, linking their MCP or API links for a fuss-free way to give the Chatbot access to their inventory. Where the AI can easily access as suggestions to the consumer. Furthermore, a manual way to add inventory items was also added to allow small business who wish to use the LLM.
How we built it
This was built mainly with typescript. We first created ideas on how this project could come about, bouncing ideas of how a chatbot web-app can act as a travel planner, while maintaining trust and security in the application's control with fuss-free payments, only needing acknowledgement from the user.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges we ran into is our little experience with creating projects. Being fresh into to the tech industry we had a hard time coming up with ideas, and executing them.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to push out this prototype. As mentioned in our challenges, our group has little experience with creating a full project.
What we learned
This project created an opportunity for the team to learn about typescripts, API integration, MCP integrations and how to modify a LLM's response to cater it to a certain demographic.
What's next for Voyage
Currently, Voyage is just a prototype with limited replies and mock data. There is definitely space to expand with a proper MCP/API Database integration to show a more concrete example of it's purpose.
