Inspiration

One day my brother told me to build a motivational app where you can talk to your future better self. I thought it was a foolish idea and impossible. Later, when I saw the BOLT.NEW post, I realised it could actually be built. At first, I saw the post late because I was busy with my exams, and even these days I have exams. But I still wanted to build it because I love creating innovative and creative things.

What it does

Better Me is an AI app built using BOLT.NEW that lets you have real-time video calls with your future better version. It offers personalised motivation, clarity, and daily reflection to guide you to become your best self.

How we built it

We built Better Me using BOLT.NEW, which is an amazing AI web app generator. I used ChatGPT sometimes for small parts, but most of it was built directly on BOLT.NEW. For creating AI avatars and real-time conversations, I integrated the Tavus.io API. This combination allowed me to build an interactive AI video calling app efficiently in a short time.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was time. I built this in just 5 days, while others had 30 days. Also, I was having my exams during this period. Even though I’m a professional full-stack developer, this was my first time building a full app using AI. Debugging was sometimes hard, and because this is a completely new idea, I had to imagine everything from scratch. But I managed it. No matter what challenges came, I kept going because I love making creative things.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m very proud because I never thought I could create something like this. This idea, which I once thought was foolish, turned into reality. No matter if I win or fail, I’m proud I built this. The main objective is to inspire people. While building it, I myself got inspired. This project has an inspiring story – every idea seems foolish until it is done.

What we learned

I learned so much – how to manage time efficiently, use AI code generators effectively, integrate Supabase, and build with AI APIs. Most importantly, I learned that with the right tools and mindset, any idea can become real.

What's next for Better Me

I believe this idea solves a real problem in today’s world. People need daily motivation and clarity to grow. So I plan to expand it on a bigger scale, release it publicly after the competition, and make it a profitable app that also does great work for society. For now, Better Me is open only for judges, but after the competition, I will definitely make it live so people can access their future better self anytime.
