Inspiration

We were inspired by the need for interactive and personalized learning for children. Many kids struggle to engage with traditional teaching methods, so we wanted to create an AI that could see, listen, and interact with them naturally.

What it does

VoxaKids is an AI companion that observes, listens, and responds to children’s activities and questions. It helps teach concepts through vision, speech, and interactive lessons, making learning fun and immersive.

How we built it

We used a combination of Python for the backend, a web-based frontend with HTML/CSS/JS, and integrated AI models via VoxaKids Gemini API for vision and language understanding. The backend handles data processing, and the frontend provides an interactive interface for kids.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in integrating the AI models for real-time interaction, managing audio-visual inputs, and ensuring that responses are child-friendly and accurate. Debugging across multiple components (frontend, backend, AI service) was also tricky.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite limited time, we successfully created a fully interactive prototype that can recognize visual inputs, understand speech, and respond to children in real-time. The system demonstrates a unique blend of AI and education.

What we learned

We learned how to integrate multiple AI APIs, manage project architecture, handle real-time data, and optimize user experience for interactive learning applications.

What's next for VoxaKids-The AI That Sees, Listens and Teaches

We plan to expand VoxaKids by adding more educational content, improving AI understanding, and eventually deploying it for wider use, helping children learn in a more interactive, accessible way.
