For a decade, the discourse on mid-career stall has framed it as a confidence problem. The confidence gap. Imposter syndrome. The sponsorship gap. The feedback bias. Every one of those is real and every one, in the research, ladders up to one underlying constraint the literature now names directly: the articulation gap.
Some call it signal drift. Some call it the recognition gap. We call it the evidence gap the structural distance between the work you've done and the receipts the people deciding your trajectory can actually see. It runs in two directions: outward, your work doesn't get seen by sponsors and calibrators; inward, you can't carry a coherent story of your own work into your own next decision.
Only 27% of self-identified sponsors actually advocate for their protégés (Coqual). 66% of women's reviews contain negative personality criticism vs. 1% of men's (Correll, Stanford VMware audit). Black professionals who self-promote get penalized for it (Wayne & Sun, JAP 2022). The system breaks at the evidence layer and that's what we built Vouch to close.
What it does
Vouch is a career articulation and acceleration engine for mid-career professionals.
Profile Drop in your resume (paste or PDF upload), a target job description, and your LinkedIn. This becomes your standing context for every artifact going forward. The JD field has six pre-loaded MLT-lane chips (Product Manager, Strategy & Ops, Consulting, Marketing, Banking, Engineering) click one to have Claude generate a plausible stretch role from your resume.
Dump Paste the messy raw material for the moment you're prepping for: project briefs, calendar exports, Slack threads, performance feedback, OKR docs. No structure required.
Mirror Vouch reflects four things back:

- 02 · Underselling + eating your time (wins missing business impact, plus office-housework patterns with an inline Plan a glamour move flow Vouch detects coordination work that should be a scoped role, and drafts the email asking for it)
