Inspiration
One of the team members, Liza, comes from a country that does not provide clear or accurate election results. Therefore, she was inspired to make a coding project that helps to provide voters with real, clear, quick, live, and accurate results!
What it does
This project provides voters accurate and live statistics of the percentage of the votes for each candidate, as well as the percentage of each candidate from each province of Canada. It also keeps track of making sure that each user got one vote in.
How we built it
C++ programming language was used along with its object oriented programming to build classes in order to build the project and there were header and source files included to make the project look simpler and easier to understand.
Challenges we ran into
For the most part, the challenges that we ran into were to have active team members and to reach out to team members who would take initiative. A technical challenge would be setting up libraries and referencing the objects properly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating object oriented structure of project, and having the program work accordingly along with making sure that it kept the number of votes and the percentages of votes that the candidates received from each province.
What we learned
We learned how to use github, and collaborate on it with several users. We also learned about Team Viewer which allows us to code at the same time in a single project.
What's next for Voting System
Liza and I would like to expand more on the project, as well as focus on building other projects such as a supermarket billing system, or other projects to help solve real world problems.
