VoterInfo

Goal

Being an educated voter takes time and effort that a lot of people don't have. This idea was aimed at providing people a quick way to learn about their representatives and what they stand for.

What it does

• Find legislators who represent you at the local, state, and national level
• Post about legislation that representatives voted on to help inform your fellow citizens
• Message representatives directly through the app

How I built it

• Front-end was developed using the Ionic framework to create to be platform independent
• Back-end API constructed using Node.js and Express
• Connected to MongoDB for information storage
• Queries Google Civics API for Representative information

What's next for VoterInfo

Right now the application relies on user-generated info. In the future, the app will contain actual information on how representatives voted on legislation.
