VOTEEN

Inspiration

We were inspired to create this app since it contains information relevant to voting/elections that we often wonder about. We recognize how important it is for young people to vote and to go out and have their voice heard, so we wanted to create a dedicated space for people to easily get the information they need.

What it does

It is an app that provides young voters with essential information and gives people a space to discuss topics that might be difficult to discuss in other places. There is a map page showing polling locations and absentee ballot drop off locations, and there is also a calendar that shows dates of upcoming elections. Other features include an activity feed and a FAQ page to answer relevant questions.

How we built it

We built this prototype using Figma

Challenges we ran into

We were not too familiar with Figma prior to this weekend, so there was a bit of a learning curve when we were making the prototype

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Given the time frame, we are proud that we were able to learn a new tool and create a product. In just a weekend, we were able to take an idea and take it one step closer to reality.

What we learned

We learned how to use Figma to create a prototype of an app. We learned the process of designing an app from brainstorming an idea to detailing the necessary pages/features and finally translating that onto Figma for the prototype
