Easy-to-use car pooling app

Inspiration

We are passionate about the car pooling concept, we believe it has the potential to empower people. Right now if you want a car, you either have to buy it or rent it the traditional way (going to a rental office, paying a high price, etc). The concept of car sharing would give the possibility to somebody who can't afford to buy a car to use one in the moments he needs to.

What it does

Our project provides an interface for both the user and the owner of the cars. Giving the user the possibility to easily rent a car for a trip and giving all the information in one place for the car owner.

How we built it

We built it merging many technologies. We created a backend with Flask connected with MongoDB, we implemented a fully-featured login page, face recognition with Deep Learning implemented with Python for KYC (Know your customer). We deployed a Heroku server with Docker.

Challenges we ran into

We started working with many different technologies stacks and we had to merge them in one place.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Pricing system.

What we learned

Amazing things can be done in a weekend with red bulls and no sleep.
