Inspiration
We wanted to make a social good game that brought awareness to problems around the world. We cycled through a few ideas before landing on Soup Kitchen!
What it does
Volunteer Soup Kitchen is a Scratch game that brings awareness to the fact that there are many people in need of food by having the players make soup to deliver to people around the world!
How we built it
We made the game on Scratch, and we made the website with Trinket. We also used Ibis Paint to draw the sprites!
Challenges we ran into
We had to redraw the sprites multiple times because of small mistakes that would get in the way of the game. The Wifi also was very slow sometimes, which kept us from using certain sites at first.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the multiple times we were able to work out the different kinks in our game, like remixing on Scratch and making the website to hold it.
What we learned
We gained experience using Trinket, which was something neither of us was very good at at first. We also learned different parts of scratch we had never used before.
What's next for Volunteer Soup Kitchen
We are hoping to make it run smoother, and maybe add a few more levels as well!
