Volunteer Connect

Inspiration

Throughout high school, I noticed how many students had the drive to participate in community service jobs and internships but did not know where to find an opportunity or how to even get started.

What it does

Create listings for volunteering and internship opportunities. Connects local and global organizations with motivated high school students and beyond. Streamlines the application process when applying for positions within nonprofit organizations and internships.

How we built it

I utilized figma to design and model the app and its functions. I used photoshop to sketch out the brainstorm and rough outline of the app design.

Challenges we ran into

It was a learning curve to figure out how to implement the different components of the app I wanted to include. For example, I had to think of a way to make the "listings" buttons easy to access but still contain a lot of the information for each position/opportunity.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm glad I was able to finish designing the app and bring what I had in mind into reality through figma. I had fun learning about how to work the program and thinking about ways to implement different features of the app throughout the design and layout process.
