Volume IV Website
I felt I needed to replace the previous Volume IV website (It was a wordpress site that was put together very quickly) with something that felt a little more personal, and I could maintain a little more easily.
What it does
It gives an overview of the idea behind why Volume IV was started, the types of services provided, as well as some examples of work done at Volume IV. Also provides a convenient way for potential clients to contact the studio.
How I built it
It's a single page angular.js app, with node.js and express.js handling any server side functionality.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Getting some real hands on experience using express and creating some server side functionality. Designing a website that looks nice and is responsive. Learning how to effectively use media queries. Setting up a Linux server and actually deploying this thing. Hitting the URL and seeing my page appear and function as intended was quite satisfying given my limited experience in devops.
What's next for Volume IV
Improve the quality and organization of the content. A lot of the images that are up there were photographed quite a while ago. I want the user to really get a virtual tour type experience from the site. I would also like to look into marketing and tech strategies to make the site show up more frequently on search engines.
