Inspiration

A lot of users including ourselves are hesitating to trade NFTs on Solana due to the poor user experience of existing marketplaces. This problem showed us opportunity to address & provide NFT Trading and creation tools under one roof.

What it does

Volatile Market brings opensea equivalent features to Solana NFT marketplace.

  • Market Stats- Permisionless market stats for powerful NFT exploration.
  • Dropper Engine- Generative Art creation with just layers & predefined metadata.
  • Dynamic Art- Support for HTML/JS powered dynamic art.

How we built it

  1. Flutter framework for the frontend to provide unexceptional UI, which eventually takes our pain of porting web app in near future & has better native performance than React.
  2. For NFT minting process we utilized Metaplex Python API.
  3. And for Solana transactions we are using Cryptoplease Dart Package.

Challenges we ran into

Wallet Integration - There are no libraries or packages available for Dart, so we solved this issue by Dart JavaScript interoperability to use Phantom wallet in the app.

Metaplex Python Api - Currently library is partially implemented & while submitting the project some important functions were deprecated.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to build MVP in this short period of time, with very limited or no resources available for all the paths we chose.

What we learned

This hackathon helped us learn more about Metaplex's NFT standard of the SPL. And also how Solana transactions are handled.
