Void: Blow your Anxiety Away

Void is a mobile app that helps anyone using it to type all their worries, anxieties, and stressors in one single place and then they can blow it away by nuking the text, which helps release anxiety.

Inspiration

Mental health is one of the biggest issues in society today. From my experience tracking everything that stresses you, gives you anxiety, or worries you does not improve your love. So I figure out a different way of doing things. Why don't we untrack our anxiety?

What it does

Void is currently an Android application that untracks everything that stresses, worries, or gives you anxiety. Essentially you write down all the issues you are having and then you can nuke them to oblivion. This should help release tension and help you keep things in perspective.

How we built it

We used React Native with React Navigation to make an Android application. We have a start page that presents the name of the project. We then have the home page that you can write on directly. Then there are two other pages that you can provide more specific entries.

Challenges we ran into

First I had a team and we were planning out ideas, but the team was not very responsive and we ended up going our separate ways. This delay the time I started on development. Another thing was that during development I did now know the language that well and I had to learn animations in React Native. For that reason I left the animation part of the app out for now.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very happy that I made a product that I can demo. Another thing is that I figure out how to make animations and I am more knowledgeable with React Native.

What we learned

I learn how to make animations in React Native and how to control gestures. I also learn Typescript, this was my first time with the language. I also had to deal with all the issues that come up with Typescript and React Navigation.

What's next for Void: Blow your Anxiety Away

I think this project has a lot of potential because tracking your issues is not effective in my case and I am sure that it is the same for a lot of people. I would like to polish the application and add good animations that make the users use the application more. I would also include a way to turn your entries into a cube that then you can put inside AR and blow it up. Also for the main prompt, I will add a nlp model like GPT2 that will learn on your entries and then make a prompt specific to you. I will want to use this application a bit more and if its very useful to me then I may release it in the Play Store.
