Inspiration

We were driven by the fact that we ourselves couldn’t see how gender equality and inequality affected us in our country and the world in general. To explore this, we conducted a survey to understand if our coworkers recognized these effects. We observed these issues in the community and the workplace, and we also read stories on WhatsApp and Facebook about people facing injustice yet receiving no help. We realized that disabled individuals are often marginalized within the community, rarely found in typical work environments, which highlights discrimination. In summary, there is no change because people are aware yet remain ignorant.

What it does

VoiceUP is a website dedicated to spreading awareness and alerting people about ongoing events. It provides a platform for individuals to voice their challenges and connect with volunteers who can assist them. Additionally, VoiceUP tracks our progress in educating people about gender equality and inequality.

The site also serves as a fundraising tool to support individuals facing legal and social injustices. Users can volunteer to help raise awareness and share their testimonials, views, and insights. Future improvements include sending text messages to rural communities to inform them about upcoming educational events and awareness programs.

How we built it

We built it using a free AI website builder Strikingly.

Challenges we ran into

Juggling the project, school and work. Internet access and electricity Not having access to other features because we hadn't subscribed.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to fight until the end to make our views known and heard. We believe that this website can be a turning point in our progress toward achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

What's next for VoiceUp

We are excited to add functionalities that allow users without internet access to receive information through text messages. Additionally, we will implement an AI translator to cater to all nations, ensuring that everyone can access vital information and participate in our initiatives.
