Inspiration

Tired of checking news or dashboards for the latest outbreak updates and insights, we created a bot that does it for us.

What it does

VoiceToData crawls COVID-19 data and tweets updates by country in near real-time. The bot also builds diverse analyses and charts, updated automatically on Twitter and on the project homepage every day.

How I built it

The project is built using Python, Node.js, Sails.js, MongoDB. Current data sources: ArcGIS, Johns Hopkins University repository on Github, Protezione Civile repository on GitHub.

What's next for VoiceToData

We will implement reports and models to advise decision-makers at a regional level on data-driven actions to take (e.g. hospitals planning their ICU capacity, policy-makers deciding on preventive distancing, municipalities deciding on when to lock-down, etc.)
