Inspiration
We’ve all had that moment: you say something brilliant, but when it’s time to write it down — it’s gone. Traditional note apps expect you to type, but ideas often come faster than your fingers. That’s why we built Voicery — a way to capture thoughts instantly, with AI doing the heavy lifting.
What it does
Voicery is an AI-powered voice note taker for iOS.
- 🎙️ Record your voice → instantly transcribed to clean text
- 📝 Edit and organize your notes in seconds
- ⚡ Get AI summaries of long recordings
- 🌍 Translate into 10+ languages
- 📤 Share anywhere or keep everything synced securely in iCloud
In short: speak naturally, get perfect notes ready to use.
How we built it
- iOS app written in SwiftUI for smooth UX
- Speech recognition + AI models for transcription, summarization, and translation
- iCloud sync for secure cross-device access
- Designed clean, minimal UI for speed — one tap from voice to text
Challenges we ran into
- Making transcription fast and accurate across different accents
- Balancing simplicity with powerful AI features (without overwhelming the user)
- Optimizing for long recordings like lectures or meetings without lag
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Launched 4 indie apps in 2025 — Voicery is the most ambitious yet
- Transcriptions now reach >95% accuracy
- Built full localization in 15 languages (thanks to our small but mighty team effort)
- Created a workflow where students, creators, and professionals already use Voicery daily
What we learned
- Simplicity wins: users want to record → see text instantly, everything else is secondary
- Localization matters — our downloads jumped after translating app + metadata + screenshots
- Indie building is a marathon: ship, learn, iterate
What's next for Voicery AI
- Smarter AI: topic detection, tagging, and smart folders
- More integrations (Notion, Google Docs, Slack)
- Desktop + Web versions to expand beyond iOS
- Growing our small community of indie builders and early adopters 🚀
