The Origin Story of VoiceMountain™

From Frustration to Innovation

It started with countless failed cold calls.

I was a first-time founder trying to sell my SaaS product, spending hours each day repeating the same script to disinterested strangers. The rejection was brutal, but what hurt more was realizing how inefficient the process was - for me and the people I was calling.

Then came the wake-up call (literally). One evening, after another demoralizing day of outreach, I received a spam call from an obvious robocaller. The mechanical voice made me furious... until I had an epiphany: What if cold calling didn't have to be this painful?

The Turning Point
I became obsessed with two questions:

  1. How could AI make outreach more human, not less?
  2. Could technology actually solve the very problem it had created?

The breakthrough came when I accidentally left my Zoom transcript on during a sales call. Watching the AI perfectly capture the prospect's emotional cues revealed the missing piece - current solutions lacked emotional intelligence.

Against All Odds
With just 72 hours before the Bolt AI Hackathon deadline, I went all in:

  • Maxed out my Bolt credits trying to create what was in my mind
  • Slept only a few hours during 3 days
  • Processed over 30 million tokens (thank you Bolt for the last weekend of June free credits)

The final test came on June 29th, at 11:59 AM, when after 17 failed attempts, Bolt fixed an already huge & complex code, to build the last deployment...

I knew then... this wasn't just another tool - it was the revolution cold calling desperately needed.

🛠️ How I built it

From zero to prototype in 48 hours
✅ I discovered Bolt and the Hackathon on June 27th and joined immediately. Despite the tight deadline, in just 2 days (and 30 million tokens later) I built this full-stack application using Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS. The frontend delivers a seamless user experience for sales teams, while the backend leverages modern AI/ML to solve inefficient outreach. My tech stack combines NLP models for real-time speech processing with sentiment analysis, all running on scalable cloud infrastructure. The API-first design enables smooth CRM integrations while maintaining enterprise-grade performance.

🛑 Challenges I ran into

Debugging the AI Cold Calling Platform
✅ Building and deploying required constant error fixing—especially in achieving the look and feel I was looking for. Fortunately, Bolt did an amazing job solving sync errors with Supabase and Netlify. And we (Bolt and I), finished victorious, only hours before the hackaton submission deadline!.

Obviously, 2 days are not enough to complete a project of this magnitude. 📚What I learned

AI is hard, but data is harder
✅ Sales experience have taught me that high-quality training data is everything. Fine-tuning for empathy and objection handling took months, but resulted in AI that feels remarkably human!

Building the foundation for scale
✅ Creating a fully functional, API-integrated backend will require time and funding. But I'm confident I'll attract the right developers and investors soon. This will unlock enterprise scalability, custom workflows, and seamless CRM syncs—taking AI-powered sales to new heights.
