Inspiration

Vietnam’s traditional markets, the historic bedrock of our local commerce, are currently facing a period of profound transition due to shifting government regulations. To remain viable, vendors must now integrate complex digital platforms and e-invoicing systems like Misa and SInvoice into their daily operations. However, the vast majority of these merchants are from an older generation, finding the rapid pace of digital transformation to be an intimidating barrier rather than a tool for growth. Our project was born from a mission to bridge this digital divide, providing intuitive support to ensure that our veteran sellers are not left behind in the modern economy.

What it does

  • Web Support: Providing general guidance on how to use the website's features effectively.

  • Basic Tax & Business Consultancy: Offering foundational advice on taxation and business operations, alongside suggestions for official reference materials.

  • Voice-Powered Autofill: Allowing users to create new product listings hands-free by automatically filling in data through voice commands.

How we built it

To bridge the gap between tradition and technology, we utilized a modern and powerful tech stack:

  • Core Stack: React, Express.js, Node.js, and TypeScript — Ensuring a fast, stable, and highly reliable experience for every user.

  • AI Powerhouses: Gemini Pro, ChatGPT, and OpenAI Codex — Driving our intelligent assistant to provide natural, real-time guidance and business support.

  • Design & UX: Sleek.design — Crafting a clean, intuitive interface specifically optimized for elderly merchants.

Our Goal: Combining robust engineering with cutting-edge AI to make digital transformation accessible to everyone.

Challenges we ran into

  • The Learning Curve: As first-time hackathon participants, adapting to the high-pressure environment and rapid development cycle was a significant initial hurdle.

  • Technical Knowledge Gap: We faced a steep climb in understanding the complexities of various AI models and the architecture of autonomous AI agents.

  • Bridge-Building: Balancing advanced technology with an extremely simple interface for elderly users required constant trial and error.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Hands-on Experience: Gained invaluable insights into the high-intensity environment of a hackathon, preparing us for future challenges.

  • Technological Growth: Mastered cutting-edge AI models and modern frameworks through intensive research and practical application.

  • Expanded Network: Connected with talented peers and industry experts, opening doors for future collaborations.

  • Strengthened Bonds: Built a resilient team spirit and forged lasting friendships through the heat of the competition.

What we learned

  • The Power of AI for Accessibility: We discovered how Large Language Models can be more than just "chatbots"—they are essential tools for making complex technology accessible to the elderly.

  • User-Centric Design: We learned that "advanced" isn't always "better." For our users, a simple voice command is worth more than a hundred complex features.

  • Agile Problem-Solving: Building a functional MVP (Minimum Viable Product) in such a short time taught us how to prioritize core values over perfection.

  • The Importance of Local Impact: This journey deepened our understanding of the socio-economic shifts in Vietnam and the vital role of technology in preserving traditional values.

What's next for VoiceInvoice

  • AI-Powered Product Enrichment: Enabling the AI agent to automatically research and populate product details (such as descriptions, categories, or market prices) based on real-time internet data.

  • Voice-Driven Web Automation: Moving beyond simple data entry to full browser automation, allowing users to navigate and execute complex tasks through natural voice commands.

  • Conversational Business Intelligence: Implementing a voice-activated dashboard where vendors can request instant verbal summaries of their sales, inventory levels, and financial health (e.g., "How much did I make this morning?").
