I coded a representation of an app called VoiceBridge independently on Code.org. VoiceBridge was inspired by the need to help students and community members in low resource areas who struggle to access education because they can’t read or lack internet. It is an offline, audio first app that teaches essential subjects like math, reading, health, first aid, and phone tips using icons and voice instructions, so anyone can learn without reading. I built it using JavaScript, creating icon based screens linked to pre recorded audio lessons stored locally. Some challenges that i faced included organizing multiple audio files, making sure each lesson played only once, and designing an interface targetted for non readers who can't fully read yet. I liked the idea that the app is fully functional, offline, and accessible, and that it’s open source so others can adapt it for their communities if they like my idea. The app also includes a button for emergency SOS calls, giving users a quick way to get help if needed. Through this project, i learned how to design for accessibility, manage audio based navigation, and use technology to remove barriers to learning. Next, i really want to expand the app with more subjects, let communities add their own lessons, create a full suite of offline educational tools for underprivileged learners worldwide, and maybe even add an option where people can use there own voice to share their ideas and thoughts. An example of usage of my app, in a rural village, a child could use the app to learn math even before going to school, or a mother could use first aid lessons when there’s no doctor nearby. although its not actually a real software app and just a representation of my idea, i will still link my github: https://github.com/tanvirathore0/VoiceBridge.git
