Inspiration

VoiceBack was born from a simple but urgent observation: countless individuals face discrimination, marginalization, and systemic injustice — yet many lack safe, accessible platforms to speak out. Inspired by the idea that “every voice matters,” we wanted to create a secure, anonymous, and impactful channel where stories could spark awareness, action, and change. The rise of AI tools and global storytelling platforms gave us hope — and a powerful technical foundation.

What it does

VoiceBack is a digital platform that allows individuals to share their experiences of injustice, safely and optionally anonymously. Key features include:

A secure form to submit stories with optional media.

Smart SDG tagging based on the content of the story.

A consent-driven model that lets users choose whether their story is public, private, or shared with verified partners.

How we built it

We used a combination of frontend and backend technologies to bring VoiceBack to life:

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are used to build the responsive interface.

AI: GPT-based language processing for SDG tagging and summarization.

Video: Online tools for AI-generated visual storytelling.

Design: Figma and Canva for prototyping and branding.

We followed ethical design principles and open-source collaboration throughout the build process.
