🧠 Inspiration

The internet is full of noise — hashtags trend, controversies explode, and everyone has an opinion. But which topics actually matter to people?

We wanted to create a platform where users could collectively vote on the most influential trending topics, using AI and voice to make the experience engaging, fun, and real-time.

⚙️ What it does

Voice Voter scrapes trending topics from social platforms like X (Twitter) and TikTok, then uses Together AI to generate clear, voteable poll questions. Users can:

See the Top 10 trending topics of the moment
Vote on which one is the most influential
Hear the "Crowned Trendsetter" read aloud using ElevenLabs Voice AI
Experience a real-time leaderboard of public opinion

🛠️ How we built it

We used the following stack:

Bolt.new to rapidly prototype and build the frontend
Supabase for authentication and real-time vote tracking
Together AI to turn raw trending data into meaningful poll questions
ElevenLabs for voice narration of the crowned topic
Netlify for seamless deployment and public access

We set up a backend that:

Scrapes or loads trending topics
Processes them with Together AI to generate poll questions
Stores those in Supabase
Displays them in a Bolt UI with voting and real-time updates
Reads the top trend aloud with ElevenLabs when crowned

🧱 Challenges we ran into

Managing multiple APIs with different formats under time pressure
Filtering and moderating raw trend data to ensure safety and relevance
Ensuring real-time leaderboard updates without adding complexity
Making voice narration feel smooth and impactful on both desktop and mobile

Created a full working product with AI integration in just hours
Successfully built a real-time voice-powered voting experience
