Inspiration

Sometimes, I have difficulty with speaking. So I wanted to create a system so that I would be able to produce speech when unable to actually speak. I also realized that I wanted it to sound distinctive. Then, I thought, what if other people wanted this too? And what if people were willing to share/sell access to their voice recordings for others to use?

What it does

It provides a recording space with prompts for creating audio recordings of yourself, and a simple way to access the Azure Speech custom voice engine.

How I built it

I built it primarily using Django.

Challenges I ran into

I didn't know how to use Django before starting this project.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Having self-taught everything I needed to learn for this project.

What I learned

• How to make a basic web application.
• That working with others might be helpful in the future.

What's next for Voice Marketplace

A more automated system for processing recordings, as well as the option to subscribe to other users' voices.
