MyCityKg
MyCityKg is a civic platform designed to help citizens of Kyrgyzstan easily report urban problems — such as potholes, trash, broken lights, or pollution — and track their resolution.
On an interactive city map, users can:
Upload a photo of the problem,
Select its type (waste, light, water, etc.),
Set the location automatically via GPS or manually,
Submit anonymously if desired,
And track status: Received → In Progress → Resolved.
The platform also provides environmental insights about air, water, and soil quality in each district, helping raise awareness about ecology.
We built the web version using React, Vite, Leaflet, and a backend on Node.js + PostgreSQL (PostGIS) for geolocation support. The interface was designed in Figma, focusing on simplicity and accessibility for everyone — especially non-technical users.
Our challenges included integrating live map data, supporting bilingual UX (Kyrgyz/Russian), and ensuring anonymity without losing data accuracy.
We’re proud to have built a working prototype that could become part of Smart City initiatives in Kyrgyzstan — connecting citizens, communities, and government in one transparent system.
Next steps:
Launch a pilot in Bishkek,
Develop mobile apps (Flutter / React Native),
Build an admin dashboard for local authorities,
Add AI-powered issue classification and real-time analytics.
MyCityKg — empowering citizens to build cleaner, safer, and smarter cities. 🌍
