Inspiration

This hackathon's core theme is fashion. Adhering to the theme, it is a known fact that many, many of us feel uncomfortable for not keeping up with the current fashion trends, not having a proper style while attending a festival or an office party, choosing attires that embarrass us at the end. And though it is always told that fashion is something which is unique to everybody, that is not true always; you would never try to wear a pair of jeans and a t-shirt in a Bachelor's Party, right? Yes, we get confused often. So, VOGUE.AI is a concept where with the power of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, we would get our wardrobes recommended by the system. Since the whole world (literally the whole) is in the palm of our hands, why not use it to recommend a fashion statement?

What it does

This a concept, where with the help of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, we would get our wardrobes recommended by the system. By specifying our gender, event we want to attend, our style preference (modern, traditional, minimal, etc.), maybe our favorite color and other options, the AI would show us a curated choice of clothes and attires that we want possibly.

How we built it

Since this is a concept, I took the help of Figma to design the application interface, as well as build prototype of how it would possibly navigate.

Challenges we ran into

The first challenge I ran into while creating this is the choice of colors to give. So I created a poll among friends and maximum voted black, hence I used black and white color as the starting screen of the app. Also, I chose the color team for buttons and icons, because teal symbolizes uniqueness. The second challenge I faced is to make a good logo, so with the help of Canva, I dished out a template and edited it. The third and the final challenge was to, what to really implement in the application, so taking some design inspirations from Dribble and Behance, and analyzing about fashion with the help of articles, I started to create the user interface.

What we learned

This project leveled my experience as an UI/UX designer. As this is my first solo hackathon, it gave me an insight on how to be fast and strategic to accomplish the task. And also, during the research of this project, I gained knowledge about the psychology behind fashion, how it affects minds, and also by creating this project, I learned how to alleviate the problem.

What's next for VOGUE.AI (a concept of Smart Fashion)

Though I made a prototype on how the application would function, it would be better if I create full-fledge working application. And also, I feel the designs can be improvised, as well as add some more features to it later.
