Inspiration

The reasons are complex why ever since the pandemic, the tourists were travelling on average before it, but we all agree that providing interested tourists with information and useful tools helps everyone make rational decisions. Leveraging data visualization, AI, and frontend-backend separation, we empower tourists to do all of them seamlessly with our kit.

What it does

We have a browser interface that tourists can interactive view tourism infomation over the globe, including AI-powered ratings for cultural, shopping, safety, and budget-friendliness. If one is curious to take a deeper dive, one can use Gemini-powered trip planning tailored to one's needs: trip length, budgets, and all your other preferences. Another headache for tourists is splitting the bill with friends, now with Gemini image detection, one can seamlessly do their ledger work with complete ease. Moreover, all the plans you make are available at mobile!

How we built it

Frontend: We developed a React-based user interface that consisting of an authentication page, a 3D-interactive globe that searches for and selects countries, as well as fetches basic information for countries from our custom backend.

Backend: We use Django REST Framework and google-genai to unleash the productivity and flexibility of frontend-backend development and the power of omni-AI.

Challenges we ran into

Refining the prompt and hyperparameters was the main problem. We didn't get satisfying results until we implemented the entire workflow and processed the data correctly at each step.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Build a very cool interactive globe with pop-ups that give users intuitive insights. Our UI/UX is super good and smooth, and our integration with AI makes it even cooler.
