Vocal Object Detection

Inspiration

I built this project to help those people who're blind by providing them with a tech-assistant who'd always guide them about what they are going to encounter and who are present in their current surrounding

What it does

Vocal object detector detects around 70+ objects and voices it out to alert/inform about the current happenings.

How we built it

I built it using only Python

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge that I faced to build this project is to make the machine understand what to capture and what to ignore. For eg, if there's a fly then there is no need of making an announcement about it.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of the end-product that I finally came up with as it is a well working model.

What I learned

I learned that whatever difficulties we may come across can be solved by sheer determination. At times I was feeling really tired as I'm a sophomore and I've my labs going and I'm also doing an internship, so managing time for all the kinds of stuff was a real challenge for me. Time management proved to be really helpful.
