Inspiration for our project:
Our inspiration for the creation was to impact the community in a way where they have endless opportunities to learn skills throughout their lives. We combined Mr. Kadar’s push for lifelong learning and knowledge-sharing through collaboration within the community. Our app shows that the combination of these two can be impactful to the community just like Mr. Kadar.
What it Does:
vLearn enables teachers and students to connect mainly through our call feature for knowledge enhancing and the opportunity to communicate to push growth for both types of users.
How you built it:
We created our app demo solely from the designing software Figma.com which allows us to prototype our app. This gives our concept a real-life feeling for not only us designers but also our soon-to-be users.
Challenges:
Our main challenge was how we were going to pay teachers(excluding volunteer assistants). Part of our solution will be applying advertisements to the videos we will be allowing teachers to post on their accounts in our next update to gain money. These videos will be screen recordings of the call meetings between teachers and students.
Accomplishments:
We accomplished laying out a platform where users can connect in the community, provided flexibility regarding the extent of use for all ages/types of users and also planned in a way that the app can serve life-long learning for users. We also accomplished staying consistent with our idea and design so that it is user-friendly.
Learnings:
We learned the principles of designing apps such as colour theory to appeal to users and how to format our information in professional standards.
Next Steps:
Working towards creating a fully functional application (through GUIs)
Get investors to jumpstart our product
Get exposure to our application through using different social media outlets
