Inspiration
Inadequate learning results are the result of poor educational quality, which ultimately forces kids out of the system and leaves them open to child labour, abuse, and violence. According to numerous studies, the brain processes 75 percent of all information in visual formats. Additionally, kids' brains better map visual information (Williams, 2009). Assimilation of knowledge from visual media is referred to as visual learning. When presented visually, knowledge is more easily understood in the classroom. Our project, which focuses on visual learning for pupils of all ages, offers a remedy in this situation. It is a set of mixed reality glasses that can be used in the classroom to provide pupils a better understanding of subjects by combining them with reality. For instance, people can quickly and simply understand how a certain human body part works using the glasses' interactive component, which also includes a glove.
What it does
The Vizion is based on mixed reality technology, this device first detects a real life object that a user wants to see, then after comparing the object with the inbuilt database it generates a 3d replica but also projects in front of the user where the user can interact with those objects with the help of a smart glove that comes with the headset combining both makes Vizion complete our goal is to deliver Vizion to everyone who wants to learn while having fun.
How we built it
To make Vizion conceivable, we employed a raspberry pi (small computer) as the Vizion's brain, which is capable of recognizing real-world things and then returning virtual 3D objects as output. We employed 3D printing technology for the outside construction to make the body both robust and stylish. Python and C++ are the primary programming languages used to complete this project. The smart glove is a wireless gadget that connects to the headset as soon as the device boots.
Challenges we ran into
The primary challenges we encountered were as follows: the first was the computer's heating issue, which we addressed by installing a good cooling system and optimising our application; the second was the optimization of smart gloves based on sensitivity and response time of 3D rendering.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Till now we have accomplished real time object-detection by which Vizion is capable of idetifying any object quickly and can generate output. The glove is also our achievement this glove is very handy and user friendly.
What we learned
While working on this project we have learnt many things like 3D printing, programming languages and many more things.
What's next for Vizion
We are aiming to scale it up to be used in other fields also like in construction, medical training etc. and providing at an affordable price.
