We were inspired by the pandemic Covid-19, which prevented us from travelling many places. So, inevitably, at school we missed out on lots of out-of-school learning opportunities such as field trips to the zoo, the science centre and the orchestra.
What it does
ViVo, which is short for Virtual Voyage creates live virtual field trips. A teacher or class can set a date and choose locations locally or around the world with a tour guide provided by us. They can talk with the guide, ask questions or comments with the host about the history and culture.
How we built it
We built the model website using the platform Wix. We created the PRD using word and converted it into a PDF, including elements such as a wireframe with the platform Figma.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges we faced were making the website and creating a wireframe. We are beginner-level students in terms of technology, so it was quite difficult to learn how to use the online platforms, especially with the limited amount of time given. Another problem we faced was our personal schedules.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Some of our accomplishments are that we built and designed a website and learned how to use various online platforms. We were able to create a good business model with high profit margins. We are also proud that our idea could give kids around the world the opportunity to still experience enhanced learning experiences, given the current circumstances.
What we learned
We learned many things during the last few days. One includes how to decide what is a problem we have and how we can solve it using our ideas. Those ideas are not perfect at the start, which means that we had to learn how to tweak and change our ideas according to the problem and future problems. We learned how to use Wix and other tools to build a basic website. We learned how to think quickly and make decisions that are forward-focused. We finally learned how to communicate with one another and cooperate as a team!
What's next for ViVo
Our next step for ViVo is to take it to the markets and launch the startup business. We will also need to start marketing our product for people to try out, gaining valuable feedback.
