Inspiration

We believe everyone should have easy access to healthcare. Many people often shy away from reaching out to providers because of their circumstances. They may not know if their conditions is urgent or can be treated because there is a lengthy process to connect to a provider. Even then, patients have difficulties reaching providers because they have other patients to take care of, which often leaves their concerns delayed. In addition, we wanted to make the process of their career as simple as possible. Some patients may forget what their prescriptions are for and when to use them. We are currently living through a pandemic, we understand due to the short staffing in hospitals and clinics, healthcare has been a bit inaccessible. We are providing a resource that makes life a bit easier.

What it does

Makes healthcare accessible and convenient by being able to diagnose conditions and immediately get in contact with a provider. Prescriptions are made easy to understand and when to use. As well, you can log your symptoms with a specific medication and compare it to the day before.

How we built it

We created the website by using Glitch after prototyping it on Figma. We used HTML and CSS to build the webpages.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into was unfamiliarity with website development. We definitely were ambitious when planning and creating the foundations of our project but unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to execute it all. However, we persisted as a team to develop an incredible website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our learning and developing our skills. As well, our user interface through Figma is excellent. In just 24 hours, we were able to collaborate in building a project we deeply believe in. We are proud of being able to work efficiently as a team and build the fundamentals of this project. Furthermore, our persistence in developing our webpage is something we are all proud of and nothing less.

What we learned

We learned a lot in just 24 hours with HopperHacks! We gained hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, and Figma. We're proud of how quickly we learned to use these platforms and implement successfully to our project. We also learned that we should have fun in stressful situations. We attended different events throughout the hackathon and had fun. From this experience, we understood what a team really means in a hackathon and highlighted the strengths of each individual team member to deliver our goal.

What's next for Viva

The future of Viva is bright! We hope to implement all the features from Figma to the website and expand into an app. As well, we want the symptoms to be auto detected to other similar symptoms of other illnesses/diseases to catch it early on for better treatment. In addition, we want to create a portal for the providers to view patient information and track their progress. We hope to bring in a multitude for verification methods, in accordance with HIPPA and privacy policies. We also wanted to implement a chatbot for FAQ. Lastly, with the creation of the app, there would be special notifications for nurses in case of an emergency with patients.
