Viva is a document-grounded oral-defense tool for teachers. Instead of trying to guess who wrote a submission, it gives a student a short, fair opportunity to explain the reasoning behind their own work.
A student uploads their own assignment to their teacher's class. The teacher selects that submission and sends a focused Viva. Viva builds an argument map from the submitted text, then runs a consented voice conversation that asks one grounded question at a time. The teacher receives an evidence dossier that links each observation to the exact passage, Viva question, and complete captured student answer.
What Viva does
- Extracts claims, evidence, assumptions, and weak spots from a submission.
- Uses a realtime voice examiner to ask concise, passage-grounded follow-up and counterfactual questions.
- Assesses only the content and reasoning of an answer, never accent, fluency, hesitation, filler words, confidence, pace, or language choice.
- Gives students a transcript-review step where they can flag a misunderstanding or add context for their teacher.
- Produces a teacher-controlled dossier with exact evidence links. Teachers can approve, dismiss, or annotate findings.
Trust and fairness by design
Viva does not detect AI use, determine authorship, assign grades, or make accusations. It stores a consented text transcript, not retained audio. A finding is grounded in the submitted passage and the complete answer captured for its question; the model cannot invent citations or change recorded coverage.

Deterministic application code controls question ordering, assessment fallbacks, evidence grouping, and validation.
