VitalMap is the new revolutionary guide that will end the long wait lines for medical care by collecting user data to give them an approach about their health condition.

Inspiration:

I have been waiting for a family doctor assignment for more than 3 years now, yet I can not get a family doctor and I just respond to sicknesses by medication. Inspiration was the development of AI and how it can be implemented in the medical field to help with the worker shortage and take a big load off of doctors.

What it does

It collects two types of data: Public and Private. Public data relates to the location of the user as we can collect water quality reports as well as climate data and geolocation (high-risk polluted areas). Private data includes information related to the user such as their age, blood type, gender, medical history, previous diseases, surgeries and vaccines, their relationship to family members that hold genetically related diseases (multifactorial disorders such as diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's, heart diseases / chromosomal disorders such as down-syndrome, tumour syndrome, etc), the display of symptoms, and their lifestyle habits (diet habits/sports and exercise trend/types of frequent activities (work/leisure) / sleep patterns/smoking and alcohol use/screen time).

How we built it

. Selecting AI model: Google Gemini . Develop the chatbot interface . Integrating Gemini with Telegram via an API

Challenges we ran into

. Training the AI model to be more specific with the questions. . Organizing the metrics to account for the data collected. . The accuracy of the output has to be precise because of the high risk in the medical field.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

. The potential impact that VitalMap could have on the medical world, especially on the local scoop. . The originality of the idea and the potential of the international use of it.

What we learned

. The first step to a good project is identifying the needs of the society. . Not all ideas are wild ideas, thinking outside the box is always recommended.

What's next for VitalMap

. The goal is to take the scoop to a wider level and be useful worldwide, not just on the Canadian level. . The more precise the output could be the more reliable Vital Map is. . Widen up the scoop of use of VitalMap so it can be used by doctors and medical field workers as their dictionary reference.
