Inspiration
Doing market research, we found a gap in the market for easy-to-use health risk assessment apps/websites. Our web app changes that. See out GitHub description for our video and code.
What it does
Specifically designed to combine the positives of quitting the smoking habit as well as the negatives of keeping it, the website aims to present coherent medical information regarding the repercussions of smoking through visual images and animations, as well as acting as a guide to help the user track their progress in trying to quit their smoking habit.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS and JavaScript as the main languages in creating the website.
Challenges we ran into
Being beginners and not having much knowledge in HTML and CSS, our main challenge was figuring out how to work with the front end work of the website, as well as conceptually thinking about back end work of retrieving and processing data put in by the user
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The website has turned out to be sleek and quite simple to understand, which was the main thing we were aiming for
What we learned
What is important in creating a product like an informative website, like the particular steps that need to be taken
What's next for VitalaMe
We see many possible developments for VitalaMe, including moving the interface into an app and creating wearable technology connected to the interface for more functionality, including inputting external data as well as user input. Ad: https://youtu.be/4YJHt6_w1gQ
