VitalAid

Why we created this project

My team and I were greatly troubled by the loss of lives during emergencies that has plague our nation and continent and other parts of the world for the longest. We created VitalAid to solve that problem, leveraging Artirficial Intelligence for Smart Automation.

What our project does

VitalAid is an AI-powered platform that provides emergency response services for those in dire need to mitigate the risk of death and save lives through first aid guidance, suitable hospital recommendation, access to emergency transportation and AI generated police reports. This is carried out through a webapp and a USSD platform.

How we built our project

We used Figma for the design creation and NextJS for the development.

Challenges we ran into:

1. Making the USSD feature fully functional was a tad bit difficult but we made it work.
2. Getting accurate Hospital database was a challenge but we successfully achieved.

What we're proud of:

1. We're proud of being able to finish the designs hours before the deadline.
2. We're proud of writing the code for such a complexly functional platform in 24 hours.

What we learned

We learned a lot through this process. We learned the importance of teamwork and helping each other when we face a limitation in our work. We learned the need for empathy and research in analyzing and problems and pain points during emergencies.

What's next for VitalAid

What's next for VitalAid is building our own AI model specifically curated for this purpose and building VitalAid 2.0: the higher model and paid version which has more features such as voice to text features, image and video demonstrations for first aid and multi-language enabled access.
