Vesta

Inspiration

After recently receiving an invitation to a beach vacation wedding on Zanzibar, it occurred to me that I had no idea what I should wear.

What it does

Vesta is an app that takes input from a user about personal characteristics, desired look, occasion, etc., and uses generative AI to provide personal style advice. It also shows what the user would look like in the recommended outfit.

How we built it

We get the input from a user, input that to the Generative AI model, get the detailed style advice and then it redirects us to the Image generation model where the user can see themselves dressed up in the exact outfit. We are also building our own GAN model using LLM.

Challenges we ran into

Image generation models are not evolved to the point where they can fit a person in the exact outfit without minor errors. There are some minor image distortion issues that are visible in the end result.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully generating the MVP with style advice and user image reclothed in the outfits.
Experimenting with the existing GAN models like Firefly, MidJourney, Replicate, etc.

What we learned

Many men don't like to spend much time selecting clothing, and are generally influenced by trying to dress appropriately for the occasion/environment.
