Inspiration
We took inspiration from our own doctors visits and thinking about how difficult it might be for disabled people to check in. We designed VisitBridge to be very user-friendly and speed up the checking in process. We also remember being confused by doctor prescriptions or diagnoses, so we made VisitBridge simplify diagnoses and remind users to take medication.
What it does
VisitBridge helps users check in more easily and understand doctors’ diagnoses. By giving them a daily check in, users do not have to remember when symptoms started, and information can be sent directly to doctors. Scanning prescriptions and diagnoses gives users more clarity about when to take medication or what next steps could be.
How we built it
We first started by ideating, thinking about where we struggle when going to the doctors and how it might affect others with disabilities. Once landing on the check in process, we drew out the different pages and connected them with arrows to show how the buttons and other elements interact. We transferred this to Figma, a UI designing tool, and asked Claude to create our app. After a little bit of tweaking and small iterations, our final app was done.
Challenges we ran into
We had some challenges with the app being “too AI” and implementing the AI agent to help users understand their diagnoses. We spent a lot of time redesigning and getting the api key for the AI assistant.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our design process and how we used AI in a productive way while not being overly dependent. We’re also proud that we created an app that could help people walk through the medical care system, especially those with disabilities.
What we learned
We learned how we could use AI to make our ideas real. We did not need to know how to code an entire website, only how to come up with an idea and design it. We learned how to prompt AI effectively and efficiently.
What's next for VisitBridge
For next steps, we want VisitBridge to be implemented in hospitals and clinics so that information can be sent directly to doctor’s offices.
