Project Story: Vision XR

Inspiration

The idea for Vision XR sprouted from a passion for simplifying complex assembly processes. Inspired by the potential of Extended Reality (XR), the vision was to revolutionize how users interact with 3D models in real-world applications.

What it does

VisionXR is designed to empower vendors and provide them with a seamless way to create custom AR product guides. Not only does it offer practical step-by-step instructions, but it also offers a remarkable, lifelike representation of the actual product.

How VisionXR works!

Vendors kickstart the process by visiting vision-xr.vercel.app. With a simple click of a button, they are directed to a mandatory form. This form collects essential information such as their email address, password key, and product name. Once the details are submitted, the heavy lifting is taken care of by VisionXR.

Behind the scenes, VisionXR utilizes Cloudinary to store vendor-submitted glb/gltf models. These models seamlessly blend into the backend's three.js code, creating an immersive AR experience. Parcel package further enhances this by generating dedicated build folders, each containing the AR demo.

The deployment process is smooth, driven by a GitHub and Onrender-based pipeline. This results in an Onrender-hosted URL for the product's AR demo, accessible to vendors and customers visiting our website.

Learning Journey

Embarking on this project taught us the intricacies of 3D modeling, XR integration, and user interface design. We delved into the realms of adaptive guidance algorithms, ensuring a seamless and interactive experience.

The development began with a meticulous planning phase, setting clear goals and milestones. 3D modeling and XR integration formed the core, requiring close collaboration with the product team. The iterative process involved constant refinement based on user feedback and testing.
