Inspiration

My blind aunt inspired me to create this project to help visually impaired people using my technical skills!

What it does

Image recognition, text recognition, fetches live date and time, barcode scanning, and much more!

How we built it

Using Swift and Xcode, Apple's vision framework, Firebase, JSON, AVFoundation, and more!

Challenges we ran into

I hadn't applied AI to iOS projects before in such detail so that was challenging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The app is fully functioning within the span of 2 days, including all AI features

What we learned

I learned more about fetching data using JSON and Firebase

What's next for VisionAI

I want to improve the image recognition model by training a custom one, which I didn't have time to do this weekend. I also want to create a voice input functionality to operate the app completely without being able to see the screen
