Inspiration
As students, we often find coordinate geometry confusing — not because the math is too hard, but because it's hard to see what's being asked. Most textbooks provide only abstract language, not visuals. I personally struggled to imagine points, lines, or 3D figures just from text. That's where the idea of VisioMath was born — to turn geometry questions into diagrams you can actually see and understand.
What it does
VisioMath is a visual learning tool designed for middle schoolers learning coordinate geometry. You scan or type a question.
- The app identifies the key terms and creates an accurate 2D or 3D diagram.
- It highlights the given data, what needs to be found, and labels important parts.
- It includes a built-in formula sheet, so you don’t have to search anywhere else.
- It doesn't solve the problem for you, but shows you what’s happening so you can solve it with confidence.
How we built it
This is currently a design-stage concept created using Figma and design tools. I created:
- The user interface
- A 3D visualization sample
- A promotional thumbnail
- A full pitch deck and video
The design reflects how the app would function in real-time, giving a complete overview of its visual features and educational purpose.
Challenges we ran into
- Making diagrams simple enough for middle schoolers, but still accurate
- Balancing between giving help and not giving away the full solution
- Designing an intuitive UI that doesn’t overwhelm young users
- Explaining complex 3D ideas in an easy-to-understand layout
- Creating a complete concept without coding
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Designed a full visual learning experience from scratch
- Created a clear solution for a real student problem
- Made learning math feel friendly, fun, and non-intimidating
What we learned
- How to build a user-centric idea for education
- The importance of visual aids in learning math and STEM concepts
- That design is just as important as development in making a product work
- How powerful a simple idea can be when it solves a common struggle
- That usability and clarity are key — especially for middle school students
What's next for VisioMath
- More Subjects – Add algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and physics.
- AR Learning – Use AR to explore math in 3D space.
- Wider Reach – Partner with schools and NGOs.
- Gamified Learning – Add quizzes and challenges for engagement.
